Addiction & Mental Health Care
Adolescence can be a challenging time, especially when teens struggle with mental health issues, substance use, or behavioral challenges. At Guardian Recovery, we provide a safe and supportive environment where young people ages 13–17 can begin healing and building a healthier future.
Our teen treatment programs in South Florida offer multiple levels of care, allowing adolescents to receive the support that best fits their needs. Whether a teen requires medically supervised detox, residential treatment, or structured outpatient care, our clinical team develops personalized treatment plans designed for long-term recovery.
Treatment combines evidence-based therapies, family involvement, and academic support to address the root causes of behavioral health challenges. With small group sizes and individualized care, teens build resilience, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop the skills they need to succeed at home, in school, and in life.
We believe every teen deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and move forward with confidence.
Mental health, behavioral issues, and substance use may seem like independent concerns, but they’re really three sides of the same triangle.
Anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, eating disorders, and more can lead to self-destructive behaviors including truancy, defiance, indifference, substance misuse, etc. These behaviors, then, can worsen mental health, which in turn can lead to compounded behavioral concerns—perpetuating a vicious cycle.
Guardian Recovery breaks this cycle via holistic behavioral, mental health, and substance use treatment. Empowering teens and families to step off the path of self-destruction and to step into a bright future, our comprehensive care treats the causes as opposed to the symptoms of this troubling triangle.
What it is:
Once substance dependence develops, teens often experience withdrawal symptoms when use is stopped or significantly curtailed. Medical detox provides 24/7 monitoring, alongside medications and supportive measures if needed, to ensure your child’s safety and comfort.
Who it’s for:
Clients with moderate to severe substance use, particularly those at risk of withdrawal complications.
What to expect:
Why it matters:
Medical detox provides the foundation for all further addiction treatment. By prioritizing physical stabilization and safety, detox prepares clients to fully engage in residential inpatient treatment, therapy, and long-term recovery planning.
What it is:
Teens live at our treatment center 24/7, where they participate in structured activities, including individual, group, and family therapy, academics and physical activities, life-skills training, psychoeducation, holistic practices, and much more.
Who it’s for:
This level of care is appropriate for individuals with moderate to severe substance use disorders who benefit from intensive therapy, consistent structure, and round-the-clock medical and clinical oversight following detox or as part of a primary treatment plan.
What to expect:
Why it matters:
Residential inpatient treatment allows clients to step away from high-risk environments and focus entirely on recovery. By combining intensive clinical care with structure and peer support, this level of treatment promotes meaningful behavioral change and lays the groundwork for long-term sobriety.
What it is:
As a step down from inpatient care or as an initial level of treatment, our PHP features many of the same treatments and activities found in inpatient care, just at a slightly lower intensity. Clients live at home or in modern and homelike on-site housing during the program.
Who it’s for:
PHP is appropriate for individuals with stabilized physical health who no longer require inpatient care but still benefit from daily clinical structure, therapeutic engagement, and accountability as they continue recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.
What to expect:
Why it matters:
Partial Hospitalization serves as a critical step-down from residential treatment or an entry point for individuals needing intensive support without full-time residence. PHP helps reinforce recovery skills, maintain clinical momentum, and reduce relapse risk while preparing clients for greater independence.
What it is:
Our adolescent IOP offers a step down in intensity from the PHP. It enables teens to live at home or in a sober living environment while they participate in therapies at the facility or online.
Who it’s for:
IOP and aftercare are designed for individuals transitioning from partial hospitalization or residential treatment who are building independence but still benefit from regular clinical support, accountability, and community connection as part of ongoing recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.
What to expect:
Scheduled individual and group counseling focused on substance use recovery
Ongoing relapse prevention planning and coping skill development
Alumni programming and peer support to reinforce long-term sobriety
Family involvement and education when clinically appropriate
Why it matters:
Long-term recovery from substance abuse requires continued support beyond primary treatment. IOP and aftercare help individuals strengthen coping strategies, navigate real-world challenges, and maintain stability through structured clinical care and recovery-focused community support.
What it is:
Virtual care options allow adolescents to participate in outpatient sessions online. Many of the same IOP therapies, monitoring, and more are offered, minus barriers related to location, mobility, and transportation.
Who it’s for:
Virtual treatment is appropriate for individuals with mild to moderate substance use disorders, those transitioning from higher levels of care, or individuals who need continued clinical support but are unable to attend in-person treatment due to location, work, or family responsibilities.
What to expect:
Scheduled individual and group therapy sessions delivered via secure telehealth platforms
Evidence-based addiction counseling and relapse prevention planning
Ongoing clinical oversight and treatment coordination
Skill-building and recovery support designed to integrate into daily life
Why it matters:
Virtual substance abuse treatment increases access to care while maintaining clinical structure and accountability. By offering continued support outside of a physical facility, virtual treatment helps individuals stay engaged in recovery, reduce relapse risk, and sustain progress over time.
What it is:
Following more formalized care, most adolescents transition to some form of aftercare. This often involves outpatient programs, ongoing therapy and counseling, 12-Step support groups for families and teens, and more.
The Alumni Program for substance abuse recovery at Guardian Recovery and our Immersion centers provides continued connection, accountability, and recovery-focused support after completing addiction treatment. This program helps individuals stay engaged in sobriety through structured community involvement and ongoing resources.
Who it’s for:
The alumni program is designed for individuals who have completed substance abuse treatment at Immersion Recovery and want continued support as they maintain long-term sobriety and recovery.
What to expect:
Alumni events and sober social activities
Ongoing peer support and recovery groups
Continued connection to the Immersion Recovery community
Access to recovery resources that support relapse prevention
Why it matters:
Recovery from substance use is a lifelong process. Ongoing alumni support helps individuals maintain accountability, strengthen coping skills, and stay connected to a recovery-focused community long after formal treatment ends.
