Your Humana benefits may also include mental health services and substance abuse treatment through Humana Behavioral Health. Humana is widely accepted, and their behavioral health network includes over 65,000 health care specialists. In addition to substance abuse and recovery, your Humana plan may cover family and relationship therapy, or treatment for related issues such as depression, stress and anxiety. Humana understands that long term recovery is most successful when care goes beyond rehab and medication-assisted treatment. Should your policy include Humana Behavioral Health coverage, you may be assigned a case manager or after care advocate who will work closely with you and your family to ensure long-term success.

Should your recovery program begins with our safe and medically supervised rehab, your Humana Health Insurance may contribute to alleviating costs associated with rehab on and related medications. Medically managed rehab is the safest way to quit using, and when deemed medically necessary, may be covered by your Humana plan regardless of your Behavioral Health benefits.

In addition to rehab or related medications, your Humana policy may also cover some or all of the costs associated with our inpatient rehabilitation services, or outpatient rehabilitation programs. Each of the programs at Immersion Recovery blend a 12-step approach based on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, with cognitive behavioral therapy and complementary modalities. These modalities include family and individual counseling. Psychological and social assessments, education and counseling on maintaining recovery, or any psychotherapy services rendered by licensed clinical social workers, psychologists or psychiatrists, or psychiatric nurse practitioners are all potentially covered under the Humana Behavioral Health program. Humana’s integrated medical-behavioral health advocacy means specialist case managers may work with you to manage any co-occurring mental or physical conditions related to your substance abuse treatment.

Your exact out of pocket expense is dependent on several factors including the terms and conditions of your HMO or PPO plan, and your deductible and co-pay amount. Typically, plans with high deductibles have low monthly payments and cover around 60% of medical costs, while platinum level plans offer lower deductibles and cover up to 90% of medical costs.
